How to Make French Press Coffee

What you’ll need to make french press coffee:
- French Press
- Coarse Prime Roast coffee grounds (#9 grind on an industrial grinder)
- Hot water just off the boil
Time needed: 5 minutes
How to Make French Press Coffee
- Rinse beaker with hot water.
Rinse the beaker with hot water to help maintain the temperature while brewing.
- Add coffee grounds.
Add one Tablespoon of coarse coffee grounds per one cup of water to the bottom of the french press.
- Boil water.
Boil water and then let sit 2-3 minutes after boiling. Ideal temperature is 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit. If the water is too hot it will result in bitter coffee.
- Pour hot water.
Pour hot water on top of coffee until all grounds are saturated.
- Stir.
Stir gently and let bloom for 30 seconds.
- Pour additional water.
Pour additional water and gently place lid on top.
- Let steep.
Let coffee steep for four minutes.
- Plunge and serve.
Plunge the coffee and then pour and serve immediately!
